This project has looked at the effect of different treatments of cod on board liner and how this treatment affects the quality of finished clipfish. The work has shown the following: 1. By increasing the water flow in soaking vessels, a smaller downgrading of clipfish due to blood defects; 2. When using ice slurry in soaking and bulk tanks on board a liner, the proportion of superior quality increases by 2% compared to normally produced cod; 3. By thawing the fish at a higher temperature before spotting, a higher yield is obtained as clipfish (5%), but also a higher proportion of cleavage was observed.
