The main purpose of the project is to create a common platform for the pelagic sector, by ensuring its sustainability. This is done by ensuring the implementation of previously completed FHL - Pelagic Forum projects, such as the Pelagic Business Plan. This contains the elements: Internationalization, Processing degree, SPC, Business and development networks as well as E-commerce and traceability. The secondary purpose of the project is to fulfill the role of implementation facilitator and coordinate the project. The project is part of the project "Action plan for profitable value creation in the pelagic sector" which was prepared in 2004, and which revealed barriers that prevented positive development in the pelagic sector.
