"The starting point for this project has been to discuss how value creation for the value chain as a whole can be increased. How can one ensure, for example, that the delivery pattern and the quality of the raw material are such that the value creation potential in a stock can be utilized to the maximum? Harvesting in the pelagic sector is a success story: through greater consumer share, value creation has become much greater. The capacity in the industry has been important to be able to achieve this increased value creation, but capacity costs and the fight for the raw material contribute to low profitability in the industry. The project at Fiskeriforskning is part of the Pelagic Forum's Action Plan for profitable value creation of pelagic raw material."
