BlueBio is an ERA-NET COFUND created to directly identify new and improve existing ways of bringing bio-based products and services to the market and find new ways of creating value from in the blue bioeconomy.

The marine environment offers a wide variety of biological resources that contain bioactive substances. This project focuses on the biodiscovery and characterization of bioactive substances from local North Sea species. Through a value chain approach, the project aims to simultaneously stimulate new applications and markets for aquaculture, biorefinery and biotechnology.
