This multi-disciplinary project will test new methods for the cultivation of seaweed and develop new biomedical products while also quantifying the role of seaweed farming for mitigation of effects of climate change. The project is led by Nessa O’Connor (Trinity Zoology) and includes several collaborators: Conor Buckley (Trinity Bioengineering), Trevor Hodkinson (Trinity Botany), Tasman Crowe (UCD/ BiOrbic) and Jerry Murphy (UCC/ MaREI).
