A critical review has been made of current knowledge about interactions between farmed salmon and wild salmon populations with specific relevance to Norway, as well as a discussion of current knowledge about effective management of wild stocks of this species. The report (in English) describes in detail information on aquaculture production, life cycle, distribution and population structure, genetic interactions and conservation of Atlantic salmon. A separate chapter discusses which research areas need special attention in the future.
