Background knowledge of utilization of the less-valuable fish species and fish processing industry by-products is gathered and analysed. Logistics and volumes of biomass is characterized and value-added ingredients are separated and purified for the use in food and feed industry whereas the remains will be directed to biogas production in this "zero-waste" value chain. The feasibility models to the commercial applications are created and evaluated and a plan for testing the industrial solution is presented. Ultimate goal is to enable business to be founded on underutilized fish biomass. Goal: The project is targeting in the utilization of the less-valuable fish species and fish processing by-products for use in food, feed, fertilizers or energy if feasible. Ultimate goal is to enable business to be founded on underutilized fish biomass.
