BlueBio is an ERA-NET COFUND created to directly identify new and improve existing ways of bringing bio-based products and services to the market and find new ways of creating value from in the blue bioeconomy.

The main objective of the usefood project is to develop strategies for food waste reduction, innovative solutions for the collection, sorting/grading, stabilisation and valorisation of food waste, by-products and packaging material in the vegetable and seafood processing sectors, from minimally processed to ready to eat meals, in order to optimise the performance of the whole food system, including packaging and up to the distribution chain, catering services and at consumer level and achieve a secure and sustainable food supply also taking into account the most disfavored population sectors
