An overview of the situation with regard to contamination routes of listeria in salmon industry, routines/measures used to prevent/control listeria and monitor the listeria situation was given based on a web-based survey and visits to four production plants. The situation was compared to advised in international standards and guidelines. Goals: (1) Identify important risk areas and potential risk-reducing measures for prevention and elimination of listeria in salmon processing; (2) Based on the Norwegian situation and international standards/guidelines: give science based guidelines to the Norwegian industry.
