BlueBio is an ERA-NET COFUND created to directly identify new and improve existing ways of bringing bio-based products and services to the market and find new ways of creating value from in the blue bioeconomy.

The aim is to reduce processing cost, improve quality and yield of capelin roes. The project is divided into: (1) Installing new method of drying capelin roes; (2) Collection, analysis and dissemination of data from chemical, microbial and other data from IFL's service laboratories as well as from prior reports and product development projects. The project is expected to lead to improved yield, lower processing cost and better capelin roes from the factories of the companies in the project. It will also yield important information for the development of added value product from capelin roes.
