The project's goal has been to achieve profitable utilization of belly flaps and bits and pieces. The project has uncovered and created a basis for profitable utilization of residual raw material from NVG herring. The work has been concentrated on production technology, characterization of residual raw materials, mapping of possible product variants and market, as well as conducting product tests. Goal: to achieve profitable utilization of belly strip and "bits and pieces" from NVG herring for consumption. Sub-goal 1. To carry out quality assessment of raw materials and mapping of possible product variants. 2. To map product and market potential in Eastern European and Asian markets. 3. To conduct market testing in the three most interesting market niches.
