"The market development for fully salted and lightly salted products and the competition between them in the Italian and Greek markets is currently poorly understood. However, experiences from Spain and Portugal indicate that more convenient products are gaining popularity. Norway's role as a supplier of such products seems to be modest. Without more updated knowledge about what is happening in the Italian and Greek markets, Norwegian stakeholders have fewer opportunities to understand and respond to the business opportunities these two markets represent. It is with this background that the Norwegian salted fish industry aims to acquire more knowledge about the developments in the Greek and Italian markets for Norwegian salted fish"
