Summary Phase 1 of the project, "Robotics hand laying of pelagic fish: Phase 1" has been completed and Phase 2, the construction of the prototype line with two robots, is ready for startup. The project will benefit the entire Norwegian pelagic industry by resulting in developed and tested technology for robotic packaging of "handmade" pelagic fish. In this way, investment risk for other players in the Norwegian pelagic industry is minimized, as these players will be able to gain access to the pilot line at Norway Pelagic (NP), as well as have the opportunity to purchase a similar or similar packaging line from the equipment supplier associated with this project. As in previous development projects, this project will also give Norwegian Mechanical Industry new opportunities.
To develop a prototype line for robotic "handling" of pelagic fish in a box - with a focus on whole herring and whole mackerel. The prototype line will be installed at one of Norway Pelagic's facilities. Realization of the main goal is extensive, and the project is therefore divided into three phases, where each phase has its own sub-goal as shown below.
Sub-goal
Phase 1 :
To choose equipment supplier as a basis for proceeding to Phase 2.
Phase 2 :
To install a prototype line with 2 robots at one of Norway Pelagic's production facilities, which through trials and tests with relevant raw material will prove that a full-scale production line will:
• achieve sufficient capacity and speed
• perform precise detection and location, weighing and packing
• have great flexibility with regard to different laying patterns
• provide new possibilities for exact sorting
• reduce “give away”
• preserve the good fish quality
• be equipped with grippers for gentle handling of the fish
• be better adapted to different packaging and packaging solutions
The prototype packaging line must:
• be test run at Arbor Technologies and approved before installation by and at NP
• be tested according to industrial requirements
• be corrected and developed at one of Norway Pelagic's pelagic facilities.
Phase 3 :
To build a full-scale robotic line for ""handling"" of whole herring and whole mackerel, which presupposes that a production line is installed for robotic packing of pelagic fish with capacity in accordance with the current requirements specification.
This project only includes phase 2.
