"Spindelfisk, with support from the Export Committee for Fish (EFF) and FHF, has worked on stockfish investment in the Eastland area in 2011. The aim was to increase the consumption of stockfish fillets on the inland market. The project is aimed at Oslo, in order to get restaurants and fishmongers to use fully drained, skinned and boneless dried fish fillets. Dried fish has been presented as a seasonal product, on a par with wine. That is, a raw material that is characterized by weather and wind, produced under natural conditions, and therefore different from year to year. At the same time, it has been made clear that dried fish is an original Norwegian commodity, but which has largely been exported. The project has had two main events: Oslo Seafood Festival/Coastens Day in June and the event ""Tørrfisk til begjær"" in August. In addition, efforts have been made to motivate and recruit the industry to get a dry fish commitment in the form of outreach visits, information etc."
