The aim of the project is to improve techniques and equipment used for fish transportation through analysis of transportation chains, experiments and computational modelling. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) models will also be connected to microbial growth models for fish. Temperature is the most important variable for the shelf life of fish products and therefore much can be earned by improving temperature regulation in the transportation process. The knowledge gained in the project will increase understanding on how CFD can be used to improve temperature regulation in fish transportation, leading to increased value in both fresh and frozen fish export.
