The main goal of the project is the systematic reduction of effort with respect to time, personnel, energy and material for ever-increasing set-up processes by means of technical and organizational as well as business and personnel optimization, especially in the meat, fish and vegetable processing industries. The focus is on scientifically based methods and policies for the permanent reduction of set-up losses. The purpose of the project is to make the setup-time analysis more effective and, in particular, safer and furthermore, to monitor and to adjust it continually due to constant pressure on production processes caused by competitors. The methods and rules to be generated as a result of industrial research using the example of frozen food are therefore to be implemented in innovative, simulation-based tools. These tools must incorporate logistical, energetic and operational aspects into the evaluation in an innovative way.
