There is a significant risk of circumvention of the current regulatory requirements for correct registration of the resource extraction and other regulations in connection with the capture of king crab. The public report NOU 21:19 proposes a number of measures based on digitization and digital transformation for future fisheries control, and this project is based on a number of the recommendations proposed by the committee. It is important to execute on some of the ground-breaking concepts in NOU 21:19 by building a first concrete end-to-end prototype in a fisheries domain in order to gain useful experience, solve the technical and logistical problems within the domain as well as methodically evaluate the various alternatives to solution. The aim is that Maritech's experiences and the prototype can be developed towards a broad industrial application in the future. Main goal: To develop and evaluate a complete and configurable end-to-end prototype for reliable, simple and secure tagging and tracking of king crab from the time it is (1) harvested, (2) delivered landing facility, (3) stored and/or processed and (4) transported to the recipient/buyer. Sub-goals: 1. To evaluate tagging and tracking technology. 2. To computerize tracking information. 3. To develop software solution for end-to-end tracking.
