Through contact with fishermen, business actors and public bodies, Møreforsking has in recent years followed the development of king snails as a resource and a new potential industry in Norway. Based on this correspondence, as well as the evaluation report from 2008, Møreforsking wishes to carry out a project to solve one of the bottlenecks for further development of this industry. Goal: to develop long-term commercial utilization of king snails that provides maximum value creation for business actors throughout the value chain. Sub-goals • To summarize information and document properties and product quality for Norwegian king snails. • To identify and establish markets for Norwegian king snails. • To design initial financial calculations for calculating profitability in the value chain.
