"The Fishing Boat Owners Association and the company Inno-Fish AS are set to carry out a collaborative project on board a fillet trawler during the fall of 2004. The purpose of the project is to assess the possibility of increasing the yield on the Baader 190 fillet machine by using a new control system called ""Yield Optimizer RT-190."" Over the past 3 years, the company INNO-FISH AS has developed a new control system for the fillet machine ""Baader 190,"" which is the most widely used fillet machine in onboard production. Originally an old machine, the successor from the Baader company, (Baader 192), turned out to be ineffective in northern waters, making Baader 190 still the right machine to use. The control system, named ""Yield Optimizer RT-190,"" is built with modern components and provides the 190 machine with significantly improved yield, as well as greatly enhanced user-friendliness. With the new control system, the machine can be individually adjusted based on the fish species and size being processed. Originally, the Baader 190 machine has a fixed setting for each fish species (cod, haddock, and pollock). These settings are fixed and cannot be adjusted. In the present project, based on a desired factory layout, three factory trawlers have been selected and invited to participate in the project. If there are more interested shipping companies among the four invited, the Fishing Boat Owners Association will conduct a lottery. The participating shipping company must contribute a co-payment of NOK 78,000. Additionally, the time the shipping company spends on project preparations and activities on board will be considered as in-kind contributions. After the project is completed, the chosen shipping company will receive, free of charge, a control system valued at NOK 125,000, as well as a newly developed yield program. The yield program is PC-based and specifically designed for use in this project. The program takes into account Norwegian regulations, and all yield logs will be assessed against current official factors. The selected shipping company will undergo a comprehensive review of the Baader 190 fillet machines, including fine-tuning according to Baader's recommended standard settings. Additionally, factory workers will receive training on how the yield-taking process should occur and how to use the new control system."
