ICRAM PAmong the various quality indicators of environmental quality status of the seabed benthic macrofauna (organisms that have relations linked in a more or less close relationships with the Fund) is of considerable importance as benthic communities, analysed in their composition and transformation in time and space, play the role of "biological indicators", understood as "spy" of complex environmental conditions to interpret, being the result of interactions between multiple factors, sometimes hardly measurable. The benthic dynamics are such as to enable a highly integrated reading of the spatial and temporal variation of the "physical world", representing the "biological memory" of ecosystem (Damiani et al., 1988). Evaluation of the effects on farming at sea benthic communities.
