Goal of the project is to develop a non-invasive monitoring solution for specific aquaculture organisms (ACO). To achieve this, we are using a combination of physicochemical sensors and image capture modules connected to a cloud-based processor called AnFish©. This software solution enables early detection of stress and overall animal welfare conditions of ACOs during all different steps within the production pipeline, including hatching to reaching their harvest ready size. Additionally, the software allows certification of husbandry conditions in aquaculture facilities, which further ensures real-time optimisation of fish production methods. Our sensor-system allows measuring of water parameters, activity patterns and superficial characteristics indicating the state of health of animals. Major focus of this project is the adaptation of computer-vision-algorithms to the field of aquaculture to generate and validate a prediction model for fish husbandry conditions which shall be integrated in the market ready product AnFish©.
