Summary In order to promote the strategic position of cooperative system in the Med space the project framework will be developed as follows: 1 Setting up the transnational cooperation framework: a permanent Steering Committee (SC) definition of specific guidelines in order to ensure an effective and agreed participation draft of a Final Document regarding Institutional Cooperation. 2. Analysis, survey and action plan for the MED cooperative system: analysis on changes affecting the cooperative economy, regional policies and legal frameworks (SWOT analysis for the following sectors: fishery, tourism, agriculture and environmental sectors) peer review, benchmarking and innovative solutions’ planning. This analysis will allow to identify the added value of the best practices identified in relation to the future development of the Med cooperative system definition of integrated Sector Development Action Plan (SAP) for the target territories. This phase will define specific SAPs to improve the competitiveness of the target regions/cooperative enterprise identification of legal framework and financing mechanisms for the effective “Clusterization” of MED cooperatives. 3. Cooperative enterprises’ clusterization: setting up 4 technical working groups, one for each sector, aimed to define the competitive development, the innovation strategies and the business integration opportunities for the coops feasibility study for the “clusterization” of MED cooperatives. This phase aims at promoting the widest integration within the Med cooperative system, improving those aspects which play a key role in the successful implementation and sustainable operation of the plans definition of phases and critical paths for effective MED cooperatives clusterization. This task will proceed to systematize the conditions for the competitive development of cooperation in the med area, integrating the strategic dimension defined within the priority scenarios with the operational dimension of the SAPs management of 4 pilot “clusterization” projects, based on participated planning methodologies, useful for the identification of common objectives and shared actions, for the innovation and the competitive development of the cooperative enterprises. 4. Online services and tools for the cooperatives' innovation: on-line observatory high added value services for cooperative system, which can innovate both the modalities of supply/use (based on the implementation of an ICT frame work) and the thematic areas the first ICT based knowledge Community of the sector (as an area of professional development based on new tools and methodologies for lifelong learning) elaboration of a common policy and definition of roles and responsibilities for sustainability and mainstreaming. 5. Disseminate and capitalize the results achieved in order to ensure the sustainability and the transferability of the project in coordination with IKTIMED and WIDE Med projects.
