The aim of this proposal is to co-ordinate research on environmental management reform to improve sustainability in the farming, fisheries and aquaculture industries. By decreasing pollution and the nuisance value of wastes, and by promoting more efficient waste handling, production, waste recycling, and lower input systems, in line with best management practices, the objectives of the ETAP will be achieved. It is aimed at T5.4.6.2 of area 5.4.6 of thematic priority 5. The AQUAGRIS network aim was to increase understanding and awareness of problem areas that are faced by today's Farming Fishery and Aquaculture (FFA) industries. Key points: (1) Achieve environmental management reform and improvement; (2) Develop solutions with minimal impact on biodiversity and the environment; (3) Publish a "State of the Art Review" which collects tools and methods of current or future use for the achievement of mitigation measures; (4) Present solutions to reduce waste; (5) Promote exchange of knowledge, experience and ideas to sustain informed decision making for environmentally sustainable practices.
