A number of catch comparison trials are taking place to assess the effectiveness of fitting square mesh panels in the extensions of Scottish whitefish and Nephrops trawls. SMP mesh sizes of 120, 160 and 200mm are been examined. Particular attention will be paid to the selectivity of cod.
