Through this project, Russian and Norwegian researchers, with the Barents Sea and Arctic waters as their field of work, will develop collaborative platforms and contact networks where taxonomy, biology and ecological aspects that can be useful in the management of the marine resources in the Barents Sea are in focus. During the project, we will use both existing material (collected marine organisms) at Marbank but also make new collections through participation in scientific cruises. Organisms will be identified according to a valid nomenclature and data on the specific species will be systematized in databases. Input data here are important and essential when considering the aut-ecology of organisms and understanding of the ecosystems in the Barents Sea.
