The aim of the project is to establish regional aquaculture plans that include recommendations on how aquaculture can improve the state of the marine environment, based on the regional specificities of potential species and forms of seaweed and shellfish. In the conditions of the eutrophic Baltic Sea, preference should be given to aquaculture that is neutral in terms of nutrient loads or that removes nutrients from the marine environment.
