The objective of ARIEL Plus is to support the transferability and durability of the main results of the ARIEL project towards an open innovation for the small-scale fishing and aquaculture sectors in the Adriatic-Ionian area, contributing to a smart and sustainable blue growth of the Adriatic and Ionian communities. The project intends to make the best use of the approach, strategies and tools developed in the three years of joint implementation of the ARIEL project, capitalizing and expanding the knowledge network and cooperation implemented between local, regional, national public authorities, research and operators of small-scale fishing and aquaculture. Building on a deep understanding of SSF and AQ challenges at regional and ADRION level, as well as on a set of policy and technical recommendations provided in the previous project, ARIEL plus aims to: – strengthen the transnational dimension of ARIEL results and knowledge through awareness-raising activities for beneficiaries and stakeholders; – provide its transnational contribution to leverage future initiatives and investments in the SSF and AQ sector of the Adriatic and Ionian area by building capacity of potential beneficiaries and expanding the ARIEL innovation community.
