Summary	Based on concerns about the spread of the viral disease pancreatic disease (PD) and other disease problems, FHL Nordnorsk havbrukslag wanted in January 2008 to establish a project to study the current health situation in the region, to identify strengths and weaknesses in the current industry structure and preparedness, and propose necessary short-term and long-term joint measures. The working committee and a member meeting of the aquaculture team have worked further on the case and collaborated with the fish health services in the region. The project was to contribute to strengthening the northern Norwegian aquaculture industry's further efforts with prevention, control and control of important fish diseases in northern Norway. The Aquaculture Association's annual meeting in January 2009 decided to implement the project. Goal: 1. To prepare a document describing "best practices" for good fish health. The document shall: a) contain guidelines for good practice in the aquaculture industry that promote better fish health and reduce future losses due to illness. b) be specially adapted to northern Norwegian conditions. In addition to the actual ""best practice"" document, a report must be prepared that contains the assessments on which it is based and a draft of points that can be included in a contingency plan in the event of an illness. 2. To convey the subject content of the project and further develop the efforts for good fish health through a) designing a basis for a professional seminar for managers on strategies for good fish health and risk management and conducting such a seminar. b) to prepare a course with a cage edge perspective for operators. The facilities' fish health service must be able to play a key role in disseminating the professional content. 3. To design the project documents linguistically so that they can be utilized in aquaculture teaching.
